Download security software: Dekart Secrets Keeper 3.11

Developer: DEKART

Secrets Keeper is a file encryption software that enables PC users to protect/encrypt their files without any special knowledge. Users do not have to waste time learning how the software works, so they start protecting their confidential information immediately after installing this file encryption software. This smart file encryption software makes you feel confide.

You can select one of the following to protect your files:

1. Set a strong password you can remember. The files you encrypt will be decrypted only after you provide a valid password. All you have to do is to simply press the "Open Encrypted" or "Save Encrypted" icons. Documents may also be opened by double clicking from within Windows Explorer.

2. Use the program interface to generate a strong password and then write it to the hardware key. To access your documents you will need to connect this key to the computer and enter the PIN code to access the password stored on this key. This means, that without this hardware key and the correct PIN code, no one will be able to access your confidential documents. Starting with version 3.10, you can use not only smart cards or tokens to store your encryption keys, but such removable storage devices as USB flash drives, CD disks and floppy disks too. Go to the Supported smart cards, USB tokens, biometric devices page to see if your device is supported.

3. Enable biometric authentication. To use a biometric authentication, you will need a biometric verification device, e.g. fingerprint scanner. When you access your private documents, the software will ask you to scan your fingerprints. If your fingerprints match the fingerprint templates stored on the key, then the data required to decrypt your documents is read from the key and you successfully get access to your files. If not, e.g. a third-party has stolen your hardware key and has attempted to decrypt your files, no access will be given as this key is protected with your biometric identifiers. This is called three-factor authentication, as there are three different things a user must present to get access to the encrypted data - hardware key, PIN code and fingerprint scans.

Features:
* Three factor authentication
Multifactor authentication allows user to enjoy benefits of strong authentication and eliminate the risks of password being forgotten, lost or stolen. * User-friendly interface
Secrets Keeper can be used by virtually anyone because of its user-friendly, logical user interface. Provides with one-click encryption and decryption.

Dekart Secrets Keeper creates an executable file which can be opened on any PC. This means that you can decrypt your files on any computer, without having to install the application, regardless of the media you use (USB flash disk, CD, DVD, external HDD, etc.), or the way you transfer the files (email, network, removable disks...)
* Password Quality Meter - rates the strength of your password, or generates a more secure password for you. Secrets Keeper analyzes the complexity of your password as you type it, to ensure that your private files will be well protected against brute-force and dictionary.
* New Look - The current release has a dramatically improved GUI, offering a more intuitive look and feel to its menus and icons.

Daita.org review:
More then a year I use Dekart Private Disk, witch satisfy all my encryption needs. But sometimes I was looking for more simple way to encrypt my doc’s. And then I found Dekart Secrets Keeper. Best of all this security software integrates into Microsoft Office with just two buttons, like open and safe, and feels the same as you open and safe, just with providing password condition, so most users won't have a problem figuring out how to encrypt and decrypt their files.
