Security is key at E-data-SOS. Our service is as secure as a safe deposit box from an FDIC insured bank and as confidential as a Swiss Bank account. Whether you're backing up your office data, saving research materials, backing up copies of important insurance policies or family photos, you can be assured that your files are being kept confidential and always accessible. E-data-SOS and its suppliers have dedicated the past four years to designing and implementing a back-end infrastructure and architecture with the highest level of security and confidentiality. We have combined the most advanced online security protocols with state-of-the-art redundant security systems, and created our own proprietary systems to ensure that your files are as secure and confidential as technologically possible.
File Encryption
During transmission to our servers your data is encrypted using your choice of various different encryption algorithms. Some of those choices are 56-bit Blowfish, 56-bit DES, 112-bit triple DES, 128-bit AES, 128-bit Blowfish, and 448-bit Blowfish.
SSL Secure Sockets Layer Protocol
Whenever a secure transaction is performed online, the web browser and the server are connected using SSL (Secure Sockets Layer). SSL operates by layering a security protocol of an underlying reliable connection-oriented transport protocol. The combined protocol establishes a connection with a remote host and then performs a "handshake" between the two nodes to establish a secure session. Once the security handshake is complete, the protocol then encrypts and authenticates data sent from the local host and decrypts and verifies data received from the remote host. This is done in a manner transparent to the application utilizing the SSL protocol. Once the SSL protocol is in place, to guarantee the highest security, the encryption coding is continually modified.
Storage Facility Control
Our storage facilities, or Data Centers, have limited personnel access. Personnel can only access the storage facility with a combination of special card keys, physical keys, as well as pin pad security code. All access to the storage facility is monitored, recorded, logged and kept on record. We also perform background evaluations on all employees, and all employees are bonded. Authorized personnel must escort all visitors. All facilities are kept in a Class A structure in a climate controlled environment. The facility is protected by a fire suppression system, redundant UPSs, and a backup power generator.
Firewall
A firewall is a set of related programs all working together to protect your data from violation, unauthorized access, and unauthorized distribution. Firewalls are a complicated form of security: multi-layered and multi-faceted. A strong firewall is your protection not only from the outside world, but from the inside one as well. At its most basic level, a firewall will act as a router, directing data to its appropriate place. Firewalls are also frequently installed on a non-modifiable device; safely, and protectively, separated from the rest of the network. |
