Backup To Neighbor (B2N in short) is a backup system using server/client architecture. It is different from traditional backup solution. The idea of Backup To Neighbor comes from peer-to-peer networking.
Nowadays, the size of Hard disk is huge! The hard disk of an entry-level PC is over 40GB. Usually, there is plenty of free space in our hard disks. Also, most PCs are networked in some way. So, we may share the free hard disk space as backup storage with our network neighbors in a way similar to the File and Printer Sharing we use everyday! That's Backup To Neighbor!! Interesting, isn't it?
Basically, Backup To Neighbor works like popular server/client backup solution. It consists of Client and Server components. The users backup their files from client computer and all backup data are stored in hard disk of server computer.
